Who this work is for

Lone Star Arms is for Saiga 12, Vepr 12, and Kalashnikov USA KS-12 / Komrad owners who need a duty, defense, training, or competition shotgun that cycles a wide range of commercial 2¾" and 3" 12-gauge ammunition. If your gun is picky, has already been “worked on,” or has never been taken down and balanced as a system, this is the queue.

What the $1,200 comprehensive rebuild includes

At a high level, the comprehensive rebuild is a full performance job — not a single-part swap. The shotgun is taken down to the barrel and receiver. OEM parts and 922r components are refined, honed, fitted, tuned, and balanced so the gun functions as one system. The goal is reliable cycling with a wide range of commercial loads, including ammunition other Saiga, Vepr, and KS-12 builds often will not run.

Return shipping by USPS Priority Mail Adult Signature Service is an additional flat $50. Additional customization is quoted on a parts-plus-installation-labor basis after you describe what you want.

Custom work: $1,200–$2,500

Typically, a high-performance build with customization ranges from around $1,200 to $2,500, depending on the optional features and equipment desired. You tell the shop the platform, current configuration, the problem, intended use, and your state. Michael sends a written quote before work starts.

FAQ

Will a Lone Star Arms build cycle cheap birdshot?

Lone Star Arms builds are set up to cycle a wide range of commercial 2¾" and 3" 12-gauge ammunition, including inexpensive bulk birdshot and other loads that many Saiga 12, Vepr 12, and KS-12 builds will not run. No semi-auto shotgun cycles every shell perfectly every time. Customers and on-site letters report reliable function with cheap target loads as well as buckshot and slugs. Tell Michael what you actually shoot when you request a quote.

Do you work on KS-12 and Komrad as well as Saiga 12 and Vepr 12?

Yes. Lone Star Arms specializes in high-performance rebuilds and conversions for Saiga 12, Vepr 12, and Kalashnikov USA KS-12 and KS-12 Komrad shotguns. That is the shop’s work.

How much does a rebuild cost?

A comprehensive high-performance rebuild is $1,200. Typically, a high-performance build with customization ranges from around $1,200 to $2,500, depending on the optional features and equipment desired. Return shipping by USPS Priority Mail Adult Signature Service is an additional flat $50.

What is the difference between the $1,200 rebuild and a custom build?

The $1,200 comprehensive rebuild is the high-performance takedown, refine, hone, fit, tune, and balance of the shotgun as a complete system. A custom build starts from that same work and adds optional features and equipment you choose. Custom work is quoted parts-plus-labor after you describe the configuration you want.

How do I send my shotgun?

Call or text (505) 263-8822 or email lonestararms@yahoo.com. Tell Lone Star Arms the platform, current configuration, the problem you want solved, how you use the gun, and the state you live in. Michael will discuss options, send a quote, and give mail-in shipping instructions. This is mail-in gunsmithing in the Bacliff / San Leon, Texas area. Do not ship until you have intake instructions.

Which states can you not sell to?

All sales final. No sales to residents of Chicago (IL), Cook County (IL), CT, CA, DC, DE, MA, MD, NY, NJ, or WA. You must lawfully own the firearm as configured in your state and municipality. Lone Star Arms will not help anyone evade those rules.

Do you offer military or LE pricing?

Yes. Discounts are available for military, law enforcement, and first responders. Ask when you request a quote. Specific discount amounts are confirmed by the shop.

Can you work on a gun that already had work done elsewhere?

Yes. The Videos page documents a project gun that had expensive work done elsewhere and still would not cycle. After a Lone Star Arms high-performance rebuild it ran Wolf 1 oz slugs, Winchester PDX1, and Federal Game Shock on camera. Describe prior work honestly when you write or call.
